A few months back I received a message from co-host of the Retro Hour Podcast, Ravi Abbott, a superb podcast I’d previously been a guest on with his Amiga partner in crime Dan Wood. To cut it short Ravi asked me if I would be interested in being a guest speaker at the Kick Start UK 02 event he was organising for the end of June 2024. I’d wanted to attend the first show last year but sadly due to prior plans I just couldn’t make, with no such plans afoot this years and with a big smile I wrote my reply accepting his invitation and thus the date in the diary was set!
Fast forward a bit and the show has now finished, the many social media posts have been uploaded and the emergence of YouTube videos are making their debuts. The show was a huge success, I got to meet up with so may cool people, some I knew already, some I’d only ever interacted online and many for the first time. It was a brilliant event and if you’re a fan of the Amiga then , and now, I would thoroughly recommend attending the next one!
The main reason I was there was to participate in an interview and QA session brilliantly hosted by John Shawler who had flown over the the USA to be with us that weekend. I got to know John over the weekend and we had a brilliant time discussing the many differences between our two allied countries.
